When #BenjaminFranklin visited France in 1779, a French man was inspired to study #physics. He soon became an eloquent speaker to non-scientific audiences. His lectures and demonstrations attracted notable patrons and helped popularize Franklin's theory of #electricity and other new scientific concepts. He made important scientific and technical contributions that have had lasting effects on both science and society. That French man is our "scientist of the day" today.
